CCPC calls on Qualified Financial Advisors to help support financial wellbeing of local employees by volunteering for free service.

Monday 2nd March, 2020: The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) is calling on qualified financial advisers (QFAs) nationwide to volunteer their time and expertise to help deliver its free Money Skills for Life personal finance talks, to local businesses.

Volunteer QFAs will receive bespoke training from the CCPC, to deliver one-hour personal finance sessions, covering topics such as budgeting, saving, insurance, borrowing money and planning for retirement. Money Skills for Life personal finance talks are available to all companies – regardless of size or scale – and can be organised as a one-off talk, or as part of a series of employee development and welfare events.

Key Benefits:

Independently delivered in an open and accessible format, the CCPC’s Money Skills for Life training programme offers QFAs –

  • A unique opportunity to engage and support their local community, by helping make financial management skills accessible to all.
  • A chance to earn up to one hour CPD, depending on their designation, with the IOB, LIA and ILCU.

Muriel Dolan, Deputy Director of Communications & Policy with the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, said: “An important part of our job in the CCPC, is to provide personal finance information and education to consumers that is both independent and available to everyone. As a means of doing this, The Money Skills for Life programme has proved to be an excellent resource for many businesses and local communities around Ireland. We are calling on qualified financial advisers from the local area to work with us to ensure that this free service is made available to workplaces nationwide. In return, Money Skills for Life offers a unique opportunity for QFAs to give back to their local community, by empowering people to take control of their financial wellbeing.”
