Applications for the 2021/21 Jameson International Graduate Programme open today, Wednesday 28th October 2020

Dublin, 28 October 2019: Irish Distillers, makers of some of the world’s most enjoyed whiskeys and one of Ireland’s leading suppliers of spirits and wines, is seeking to recruit graduates to join the 2021/22 Jameson International Graduate Programme. Successful graduates will have the opportunity to work as Jameson Brand Ambassadors with a world-renowned Irish whiskey brand, avail of a world-class training and development programme, with extensive career progression opportunities and work in one of over 35 international markets.

Graduates are provided with the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to shape their own experience as part of the Jameson International Graduate Programme, enabling them to hone and develop the skills required to progress their career, while contributing to the global Irish whiskey success story.  Additionally, graduates are also plugged into a global community through the Irish Distillers and Pernod Ricard network, developing future leaders and future-proofing the talent pipeline for the broader FMCG industry.

Sinéad D’Arcy, Head of Jameson International Graduate Programme said: “At Irish Distillers, we have a history of supporting and nurturing young talent. The Jameson International Graduate Programme was established in 1991 and has been successfully recruiting and training graduates for almost 30 years, many of whom have remained within the wider network, and some have gone on to hold leadership positions within Irish Distillers domestically and Pernod Ricard globally. As one of the longest running graduate programmes in Ireland, we know what kind of graduate works for the programme and we look for creative, innovative, self-starters with an entrepreneurial mindset. We want graduates who are committed to getting the job done, but who don’t take themselves too seriously. We call this ‘Serious Character’.”

The Jameson International Graduate Programme is one of Ireland’s leading graduate employers and this year was named gradireland’s most popular FMCG graduate employer for the seventh consecutive year. Supported by a competitive benefits package, mentorship via a global support network and a multi-award winning development programme, the Jameson International Graduate Programme provides graduates with the opportunity to establish the brand in a new market or accelerate growth in a more established market, while building professional confidence and competence.

“We know how important it is that a programme supports both personal and professional growth. Our multi-award-winning development programme, ‘Distill Your Own Success’ is a key pillar of the programme’s success. The programme applies a 70/20/10 approach to graduate development; 70 percent on the job learning; 20 percent learning through feedback and reflection and 10 percent formal learning. Through this, graduates are afforded the best possible opportunities to build and develop their career,” D’Arcy added.

The 2021/2022 intake of graduates will have the opportunity to work in emerging markets in Africa, Asia and Latin America, offering a truly unique opportunity and broad portfolio of experience.

“This year has brought significant challenges and accelerated changes to both the hiring and working environment. We recognise the personal and professional stresses on graduates searching for job opportunities against the challenging backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic and we remain committed to supporting graduates and adapting to the changing landscape, as necessary,” D’Arcy continued.

The Jameson International Graduate Programme accepts applicants from all disciplines, so a marketing or business background is not essential. Today, Brand Ambassadors come from a variety of backgrounds – from law, arts, and psychology, to business and marketing. The programme’s four-week induction programme covers all bases, ensuring that graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills and tools they need to hit the ground running post-induction.

Applications for the 2021/21 Jameson International Graduate Programme open on October Wednesday 28th October 2020 and close on Wednesday 24th February 2021. Applicants should visit jamesongraduateprogramme.com for more information.
